If you follow me on Instagram, you probably saw some of the awesome items I’ve shared in my 2020 Holiday Gift Guide series in my stories over the last week. There are so many designers and small businesses that I follow and love and am excited to share with you. It’s more important than ever to support independent makers, so here is a more detailed list with links. Happy Shopping!

Holiday Gift Ideas for Her

I realize this is a pretty broad category, but these items are great ideas for moms, sisters, friends, co-workers, etc—they’re far from generic, but I’d be willing to bet they would appeal to lots of the women on your list.

Holiday Gift guide gifts for the women on your list

01  /  Journal and Pen Sets by Carol Fazio Design
Carol’s paintings are bright, colorful and all-around happy. She sells beautiful calendars and prints as well in her Etsy shop.

02  /  Tea Towels and Holiday Mugs (not pictured) by Paper Raven Co.
Honestly, you can’t go wrong with anything from Paper Raven’s Holiday Collection this year. Erin’s artwork looks beautiful on everything. See more of her work at shoppaperravenco.com

03  /  Stemless Wine Tumbler by Erika Firm
Erika has so much pretty drinkware for sale, it was hard to narrow it down to one. But I am already thinking about enjoying a cold beverage in one of these tumblers out on the patio next summer. Visit her at erikafirm.com

04  /  Letterpress Calendar by Katharine Watson
I’ve been a fan of Katharine’s block prints for years. Her style is distinctive, beautiful and unique. She also sells prints, cards and textiles on her site at katharinewatson.com

05  /  Personalized Zippered Pouch Set by Erin Deegan for Minted
I purchased one of these personalized pouches for a gift exchange last year and loved it. Even though Minted is a little bigger than what I would call a small business, they give independent designers like myself some amazing opportunities to promote and monetize our work, so it totally counts.

Holiday Gifts for Him

Is your husband/dad/brother tough to buy for? I feel you! Check out some of these gifts for the guys.

03  /  Monogram Red and Black Plaid Mug by Maggie Mart on Zazzle
He’s going to need a mug for the coffee, yes?

04  /  Personalized Dopp Kit by Sweta Modi for Minted
Who else had to Google “dopp kit”? It’s basically another name for toiletry bag and I have to admit, better sounding. See more styles on the Minted site at minted.com/dopp-kit

05  /  BBQ Apron by Annie Montgomery Design on Zazzle
I rarely cook in the summer thanks to my husband’s love of grilling and I’m OK with that. Annie’s watercolor print is perfect for the grill masters in your life.

Holiday Gift Ideas for Engaged Couples

I love giving gifts that are a little different and the ones on this list fit the bill!

05  /  Online Calligraphy Classes
This one may not be every couple’s cup of tea, but lots of brides and grooms try their hand at calligraphy for their wedding and would love the opportunity to learn from the pros. If the couple is the DIY-type, this is a winner.

Holiday Gift Ideas for New Parents

Given the situation we’re in now, it may not be feasible to visit the new baby right away, but I’m sure getting a sweet gift in the mail would make new parents very happy. Another great gift that’s not on the list—an offer to babysit! (When it’s safe to do so, of course.)

Personalized Holiday Gifts

Giving a gift that is custom and personalized is quite possibly the best way to level up your gift-giving game.

01  /  Custom House Portrait Address Stamp by Fresh Cut Prints
I was originally going to suggest a basic address stamp, but then I found Erin’s custom house portraits and knew I had to share them! They are like little works of art for envelopes. These would make an amazing housewarming gift. See more in Erin’s Etsy shop.

02  /  Personal Stationery by Petra Kern for Minted

04  /  Personalized Puzzle by Karita Paramita for Minted
Minted just recently launched these personalized puzzles. How cute would this be for the littles on your list?

05  /  Hometown Art Prints by Jula Paper Co.
Jillian at Jula Paper created these state map prints to show your hometown, the location of your wedding or a favorite vacation spot. These would make gifts to celebrate a housewarming or new vacation home! Visit her site for the full lineup at julapaper.co.

Holiday Gift Ideas for Dog Lovers

Everyone knows this is one of my favorite categories. Did you also know that dog adoptions went up during the pandemic? If someone you know welcomed home a furry friend, they would probably love these gifts.

This is a holiday gift guide for new dog owners and pet parents

01  /  Matching Mask and Dog Bandanas by The Foggy Dog
No, your dog does not need to wear a mask. But since we humans need to wear them for the foreseeable future, I see no reason we can’t be coordinated! BONUS: Every order helps feed a shelter dog! Check them out at thefoggydog.com.

02  /  Santa Paws Personalized Dog Stockings by Sandra Picco for Simply to Impress
This sort of goes without saying, but a new family member is obviously going to need a stocking for all the treats Santa brings.

03  /  Custom Photo Pillow by Sandra Picco for Photo Affections
Dog people just get it, trust me. They will put their pup’s photo on everything.

04  /  Watercolor Pet Portrait by Kelsey McNatt
Of course, I chose the German Shepherd print to show, but Kelsey offers many breeds in a variety of sizes and colors. She sells other watercolor prints, too. Visit her Etsy shop to see them all.

05  /  Waste Bag Holder by Lucy & Co.
Cleaning up doodie is the least glamorous but necessary chore when you walk your pup. You can still look good while doing it! BONUS: Lucy & Co. donates bandanas and leashes to shelter dogs and rescue organizations. (They also has the most adorable logo ever!)

02  /  Sticky Notes by Ringleader Paper Co.
Remember, “You’ve Got This!” with these sticky notepads from Ann at Ringleader Paper Co. Ann also sells planner pads for those of us that tend to forget things unless we write them down.

03  /  Glitter Mermaid Name Labels by Peetie Design for Minted
What’s better than mermaid stickers? Mermaid stickers with your name on them! Kids will love labeling their stuff with personalized stickers from Minted.

04  /  I Can Do Anything Planner by Lea Delaveris on Zazzle
I love this funny and incredibly accurate sentiment for 2020. Lea’s design can also be used on notebooks and other products. See more of the collection in her Zazzle store.

05  /  Hand Sanitizer by La Bella Rue on Zazzle
Similar to the un-glamorous dog chores above, keeping our hands germ-free is something we all just need to do, so why not do it in style? Paula’s design just makes things a little prettier. Bottled sanitzers are sold on Zazzle in sets of 12, so there’s plenty for everyone’s stocking.
